Copenhagen, 2018. A frightening discovery is made in an old apartment. The subsequent investigation of Department Q leads them to an infamous institution for girls that was suddenly closed in the early sixties.

Young artist Freya, amidst the echoing cries of a baby, finds her apartment consumed by an eerie and malevolent presence.

Mona is a young woman, engaged to a man who never shows up. She relies strongly on her supportive friend, Anne. Mogens is mentally ill and has been in and out of hospital for years, and as he becomes more and more agitated and violent, Jens has to take him back to the hospital. However Mogens manages to talk Jens into helping him find the car. For one day and one night the two of them drive around Copenhagen looking for the car, and the trip becomes a moving odyssey where father and son will finally get to know one another.
