تدور احداث الفيلم وسط معاناة أزمة منتصف العمر، تقرر مجموعة من الأصدقاء التعاون معًا في سبيل إنتاج نسخة حديثة من فيلمهم المفضل بفترة الشباب، ولكن تقودهم الرحلة إلى مجموعة من الأحداث الغير متوقعة بالأدغال.

بصفته مجندًا شابًا وساذجًا في فيتنام ، يواجه كريس تايلور أزمة أخلاقية عندما يواجه أهوال الحرب وازدواجية الإنسان.

تدور أحداث الفيلم حول (ماوكلي)، وهو طفل رضيع يضيع في إحدى غابات الهند، وتقوم قبيلة من الذئاب بتربيته، كما يتولى الدب (بالو )تعليمه وتلقينه الدروس الحكمية، أما الفهد (باجيرا)فيعلمه كيفية العيش في الغابة.يصير عمر (ماوكلي)11 عاما، فيصبح في حيرة شديدة، فلديه من الآدمية ما يمنعه من الاستمرار في العيش في الغابات، كما أنه يفتقر إلى التحضر لدرجة تمنعه من العيش وسط القرويين.

أُسر ببغاء يُدعى بلو على يد المهربين وهو صغير، ولم يتعلم الطيران قط، ويعيش حياةً مُدجنةً سعيدةً في مينيسوتا مع صديقته البشرية ليندا. يُعتقد أن بلو هو آخر فصيلته، ولكن عندما وردت أنباءٌ عن أن جويل، أنثى وحيدة، تعيش في ريو دي جانيرو، يذهب بلو وليندا لمقابلتها. يختطف مهربو الحيوانات بلو وجويل، لكنهما سرعان ما يهربان ويبدآن مغامرةً محفوفةً بالمخاطر للعودة إلى الحرية - وإلى ليندا.

Tarzan is a series that aired on NBC from 1966 – 1968. The series portrayed Tarzan as a well-educated character, one who, tired of civilization, had returned to the jungle where he had been raised. The first season ended in a cliff-hanger, and a second season was never produced. The series retained sufficient interest that it was released on DVD in 2011. A novelization of the 2-hour pilot was written by Rob MacGregor, and a mass-market paperback was released by Harper on 8 Aug 2000. The German title was Amazonas - Gefangene des Dschungels.
