تدور قصة الفيلم حول إيلين ريبلي التي يتم إحيائها بعد 200 عاما من وفاتها، بعد تهجينها لتجمع بين صفات البشر وكذلك الكائنات الفضائية وما يتحتم عليها من أعمال لمواجهة تلك الكائنات الفضائية.

قام الباحثون في مختبر Aquatica الموجود تحت سطح البحر بتعديل أدمغة أسماك القرش الأسيرة وراثيًا لتطوير علاج لمرض الزهايمر. لكن هناك أثر جانبي غير متوقع: فقد أصبحت أسماك القرش أكثر ذكاءً وأسرع وأكثر خطورة. بعد أن دمرت عاصفة كبيرة منشآتهم البحثية البعيدة ، يجب عليهم القتال من أجل حياتهم.
