ينطلق المحققان جودي وتيك في مطاردة مشوّقة بعدما يصل إلى زوتروبوليس زاحف غامض يُحدث فوضى عارمة ويقلب عالم الثدييات رأسًا على عقب.

تدور أحداث الفيلم حول لعبة خشبية اسمها بنوكيو، التي قام بصنعها صانع الألعاب جيبيتو، الذي يتمنى أن تدب الحياة في بنوكيو، حيث يتم تحقيق هذه الأمنية من قبل جنية زرقاء جميلة وعندها تبدأ المغامرة.

فيلم فنتازيا ملحمي أمريكي مبني على قصيدة سير غواين والفارس الأخضر والمكتوبة بالإنكليزية الوسطى في أواخر القرن الرابع عشر. يتكي مغامرة "سير غواين" أحد فرسان الطاولة المستديرة الذين كانوا مع الملك "آرثر."
