يتحدث الفيلم عن رجل يستيقظ من غيبوبة دخلها منذ فترة طويلة, فبعد استيقاظه يرى نفسه في مستشفى ولا يجد أحداً آخر غيره ليضطر الخروج فيرى بأن المدينة كلها مهجورة وقدحلت بها فوضى عارمة في كل شيء بسبب انتشار وباء جيني قد حوّل البشر إلى “زومبي” وكيف ينجو فئة منهم ممن تحول من الباقين. الفيلم من إخراج المخرج البريطاني المميز داني بويل, على الرغم من أن الفيلم يتكلم عن انتشار الزومبي وهو مايراه البعض مكرره ومبتذل واستهلك في كثير من الأفلام السابقة, إلا أن فيلم “بعد 8 يوم” يعد واحد من أبرز أفلام الرعب والزومبي تحديداً في الفترة الماضية على وجه الخصوص , فبالنظر لما قدمه داني بويل في عمله هذا فإنه استطاع صنع فيلم رعب وإثارة مميز جداً في خلق الأجواء الممتعة والجذابة وحتى الابتكار في بعض القواعد التي وضعت لمثل أفلام الزومبي هذه
