سيرلي، سنجاب متجهم ومستقلّ الطباع، يُنْفى من الحديقة ويُجبر على التأقلم مع الحياة في المدينة. لكن الحظ يحالفه حين يعثر على ما قد يُنقذ حياته وحياة باقي سكان الحديقة مع اقتراب الشتاء: متجر "ماوري" للمكسرات.
