A bitter comedy about how difficult it can be to forgive parents for their concern, reproaches, or unfulfilled expectations was filmed in Ostrava by Czech Television director Lenka Wimmerová. We can guess what lies behind it this time too – is it the emptiness in their own lives after their children have left home, or disillusionment with their own failed marriages? The main character, Ivana, lives alone, without a husband and without her daughter, who is abroad. She suffers from insomnia and finds it difficult to detach herself from family injustices and her own life failures.

The history of one idea with monstrous consequences, presented in the style of old newsreels and interspersed with quotes from Patrik Ouředník’s Europeana. Archival footage is combined with animation as a kindly narrator takes us on a journey from the idea of cultivating a “better human race” all the way to the gas chambers.

The richest farmer and at the same time mayor Dubský and first councilman Bušek are constantly competing for supremacy. Prokop does not want to lecture; he wants to inspire viewers with enthusiasm for the Czech wilderness. Only then can they understand why it is important to give wilderness freedom and space.
