A ten-year-old boy's world is turned upside-down when his father is forced to shelter a runaway criminal in the family cafe that doubles as their home.

A young "Crook", card player-swindler, follows the trains, deceives the passengers and steals money. When exposed to fraud he is often beaten. On the train he meets pioneers and their attractive leader who thinks he is a priest because of his outfit. while eating and drinking the offerings from the pioneers, he begins to talk incredible nonsense, referring to Christ as being a bird and gradually enters his character as a priest. Suddenly "priest" sees a small mystical river from the window, decides to bring the children and their leader from the train and baptises them in this river which he calls "The Jordan". The newly baptised pioneers and their leader will then jump on the already departing train and happily head for their compartment, while the "priest" is apprehended by his previous victims, that were searching for him.

The Pshavi people of the eastern mountains of the Republic of Georgia perform a ritual which can be characterized as a syncretism of ancient polytheistic beliefs and Orthodox Christian faith, but which is qualified by city habitants of Tbilisi as "pagan". The ritual of Tamar and Lashari celebrates queen Tamar (12-13th century) and her son Lasha, deified by the mountain dwellers. Each year, and for three days, on the hillside of a Caucasus valley, pilgrims consecutively meet at two sanctuaries consecrated to these deities and worship them through prayers, songs and sacrifices, enjoying at the same time food and happy chats with friends they have not seen for a year. In addition to prayers and sacrifices by a shrine priest, religious songs are an essential part of the ritual.

Batumi is the tourist center of Georgia. Every day large number of locals and tourists watch the ships entering or leaving the port. There is only one ship, "Enguri", with its crew of two that never leaves the port. The three of them are refugees from Abkhazia. Lado is the captain and Vakho is the boatswain. They never leave their almost broken ship, anchored in Batumi port.
