As a result, Um Mohamed roams the streets of Irbid and collects scrap metal and recyclables and sells them in a male-dominant industrial area. Though she provides for her family and has earned the title of the breadwinner, she does not earn the respect and appreciation that comes with it, as she's still expected to fulfill her cooking and cleaning duties at home.
