Dvaatřicetiletý Londýňan Charles, ačkoliv je pohledný a šaramantní a má kolem sebe mnoho žen, se zatím nechce vázat. Čím více ubývá jeho svobodných kamarádů, tím méně chce být jako oni. Ale všechno se změní, když potká svobodomyslnou Američanku Carrie. Okamžitě se zamiluje, začíná ji pronásledovat a brzy zjišťuje, že ona se chce také vdávat... ale za někoho jiného!

Donna chce zastavit finančně i psychicky náročnou hormonální léčbu a začíná uvažovat o adopci. Její manžel Pete s tím nesouhlasí. Daphne se po nedávném zdrcujícím rozchodu cítí v životě ztracena. Žije v sestřině domě, kde se pravidelně stává svědkem hádek mezi svou sestrou a švagrem, což jen dále umocňuje rostoucí zoufalství kdysi idealistické ženy nad dlouhodobými milostnými vztahy. Posléze však na večírku potká Franka a Jacka. Oba ji nesmírně přitahují, i když velmi odlišnými způsoby - jeden je svobodomyslný mizera, druhý je decentní, inteligentní a citlivý muž. Daphne, která se nedokáže rozhodnout mezi těmito dvěma extrémními protiklady, se oddává skutečnosti, že ji každý z nich vnímá úplně jinak. Osud však zasáhne znovu a Daphne je brzy nucena si uvědomit, že pokud získáme všechno najednou, často nakonec nezůstane nic.

O čem mluví muži? Samozřejmě, že o ženách. Tento snímek má na svědomí ruský "Kvartet I" který má v Rusku za sebou již velice populární "Den radio" a "Den vyborov". Jako vždy je film postaven na vtipných dialozích čtyř kolegů z rádia "Jakoby Rádio". Čtyři kolegové z rádia se vydávají na dvoudenní cestu do Kyjeva na koncert skupiny Bi-2. Během ní mají spoustu času vypustit páru a oddechnout si od všedního života a hlavně manželek, milenek a práce. Hořce pravdivá "dialogová" komedie o tom, co si muži s námi (ženami) musí vytrpět. A co my o nich nevíme a vědět ani nechceme.

Jeden ze skupinky přátel středního věku přichází vinou tragické nehody o život. Navzdory této události se jeho blízcí rozhodnou vyjet na tradiční, každoroční společnou dovolenou na pláži nedaleko Bordeaux. Jejich vztahy, přesvědčení, pocity viny i přátelství jsou v zápětí podrobeny těžké zkoušce. A nejen proto, že k sobě nebyli vždy zcela upřímní, jsou nakonec nuceni přiznat se k několika více či méně Milosrdným lžím.

Ta po určité době přijímá, ale na rozdíl od Abeho naivní zamilovanosti je to spíše důsledek její zoufalé životní situace. Jejich vzájemný vztah se však pomalu začíná komplikovat. Todd Solondz se vrací s dramatem, v němž umně propojuje nenásilný humor se smutkem i s tesknou atmosférou, vypovídající o reálném životě obyčejných outsiderů, kteří mají problém probíjet se životem a dosáhnout spokojenosti. Pond Life is a British animated television series that was written and directed by Candy Guard and follows the misadventures of its neurotic and self-obsessed protagonist, Dolly Pond. Two series were broadcast on Channel 4 in 1996 and 2000. A series of 13x15minute episodes was screened from 3 to 18 December 1996, mainly at 5.45pm, but two episodes exploring more adult themes were reserved for a double screening at 11.25pm. This series was repeated between March and June 1998. A second series of 7x30minute episodes followed between 19–30 September 2000 to tie-in with Channel 4's Animation Week of 23–29 September 2000. The series began life in 1992 with a pilot episode entitled I Want a Boyfriend ... Or Do I?, co-commissioned by Channel 4 and S4C. It was shown at the same time as Australian soap Neighbours, and was aimed at the same core audience as the soap. Despite these problems, Pond Life won several awards and received a Writer's Guild nomination for Best Sitcom. Guard was pleased because it was up against several live-action comedy series, including Only Fools and Horses. A second series was broadcast in 2000.
