Ve skutečnosti je chladnokrevnou a mimořádně nebezpečnou tajnou agentkou, která má díky tvrdému výcviku schopnost vyváznout živá z jakékoliv přestřelky či souboje. Nikdo ovšem netuší, že Anna kromě pokynů vedení sleduje i svůj vlastní cíl, díky němu se ocitne ve střetu zájmů dvou světových velmocí. Pohybuje se stále na tenčím a tenčím ledě – mezi špinavou ulicí a nablýskanými přehlídkovými moly, mezi KGB a CIA, mezi dvěma milenci na opačné straně barikády i mezi loajalitou ke svým mentorům a touhou splnit si vlastní sny. Dokáže nakonec uniknout?

Zákulisí módních přehlídek to je svět sám o sobě, plný originálních osobností i velice bizarních postaviček. A právě v něm se, jako ryba ve vodě, pohybuje Derek Zoolander. Třikrát za sebou byl prohlášen Modelem roku a tak přivykl záři reflektorů, bleskům fotoaparátů a myšlence, že je prostě neodolatelný a „cool“. I ve svém soukromí se pohybuje stále jako na molu. Někdy takové legrácky zaplatí životem jeho kámoši (to když si právě zapálili u benzinové pumpy, kde po sobě předtím vesele stříkali pohonnými hmotami), ale život jde dál a je tak fantastický a úžasný. Ovšem až do chvíle, kdy se módní jedničkou stane Hansel, podivný chlap navlečený do hadích kůží. Je třeba začít znovu a lépe. Jenže jak? A právě tehdy se o Dereka začnou znovu ucházet mocní z módních kruhů a objekt jejich zájmu netuší, že důvodem je jeho téměř naprostá absence mozkové aktivity.

Mrtvé (ale v pravém slova smyslu) začínají být i vybrané hudební celebrity, jejichž násilné konce spojuje jeden zvláštní detail – každého z nich našla policie s grimasou kopírující jeden z unikátních pohledů Dereka Zoolandera. Když takhle dopadne i Justin Bieber, rozhodne se hlavní a velmi sexy vypadající vyšetřovatelka pro velmi odvážný, leč také naprosto zoufalý pokus. Angažuje Dereka a Hansela a ti mají coby tajní agenti infiltrovat svět těch nejblyštivějších celebrit a najít v něm vraha dřív, než bys řekl Gaga. Aby jejich mise byla ještě o něco složitější, z vězení se právě dostal zlosyn Mugatu, který se za mřížemi doučil vše, co má umět správný záporák, a navíc tam pro Hansela a Dereka uchystal velmi brutální pomstu. Přehlídková mola budou už zase hořet.

V anglické metropoli kvete nová pop-artová kultura, uvolněný životní styl charakterizovaný mladými idoly, mladou hudbou a symboly nové generace – extravagantními auty, excentrickými byty a pestrobarevnou módní garderobou. Módní fotograf je jedním z úspěšných mladých mužů. Je bohatý, zraňuje svým sobectvím a absolutně nepochybuje o dokonalosti své práce moderního umělce. V jeho studiu se jednoho dne nečekaně objeví mladá žena a chladně, i když marně, mu nabídne své tělo výměnou za snímky mileneckého páru, který potají pořídil v parku. Když Thomas fotky zvětší, má dojem, že zachytil okamžiky vraždy. Najde dokonce mrtvolu, ta však zmizí stejně rychle jako fotografie a záhadná žena. Thomas se vrhne do víru londýnského popového života, ale cítí se náhle znejistělý a chladný.

Benjamin a Jane se právě vzali. On je uznávaný fotograf, a tak na svatební cestu odjedou do Japonska, kam se Benjamin po krátké pauze vrací pracovat. Jedné noci se jim stane autonehoda. Pod kola jejich auta se totiž připlete mladá žena, jejíž tělo ovšem není k nalezení. Oba dva se na tuto epizodu snaží zapomenout, ale náhle se začnou dít divné věci. Na jejich fotografiích se objevuje záhadný stín. Pod drobnohledem se ukáže, že je to dívka, kterou tak záhadně srazili. Zatímco Benjamin začne být tajemnou bytostí ohrožován, a to jak psychicky, tak i jako fotograf, Jane se vydává po stopách podobných příběhů a zjišťuje, že dívka vlastně volá o pomoc… Film je remakem stejnojmenného úspěšného thajského hororu a je zasazen do kulis současného Tokia. I vzhledem k tomu, že v něm hrají neokoukaní herci a za kameru se postavil japonský štáb, slibuje silnou a napínavou duchařskou podívanou, kde se lidská rozhodnutí dokáží s nečekanou silou vrátit i ze záhrobí. A to i s úroky…
