Má vystupovat jako nevinnost sama, ale až bude podepsána svatební smlouva, pak má učinit starému mládenci ze života hotové peklo. Don Pasquale bude tak strašlivě pod pantoflem, že učiní všechno možné, aby se této dračice zbavil. Pak už nebude nic bránit tomu, aby Don Pasquale svolil k sňatku Noriny a Ernesta...

Píše se rok 1781 a Antonio Salieri působí jako dvorní skladatel císaře Josefa II. It is adapted from Arthur Kopit's book for his then-unproduced stage musical Phantom, which is based loosely on Gaston Leroux's novel.
