Hrůzu tentokrát nebude vzbuzovat videokazeta s tajuplným obsahem, ale zdánlivě docela obyčejný klíč. Ten vyfasuje mladá ošetřovatelka Caroline (Kate Hudsonová) od svých nových pacientů, postaršího manželského páru (Gena Rowlandsová a John Hurt), který žije ve starobylé a poněkud zpustlé usedlosti v zapadlém koutu Louisiany, na jihu Spojených států.
