Having opened it's doors in November of 1908, this state-funded school / hospital became extremely overcrowded within a short period of time, taking in those who were suffering from mental illness or criminals, orphans, etc. i.e. people who could not be housed elsewhere. The school quickly became the center of a human rights movement which eventually revolutionized America's approach to mental healthcare.

Early Today is an American early morning television news program airing on NBC. The program features general national and international news stories, financial and entertainment news, off-beat stories, weather forecasts, and sports highlights. It is anchored by Richard Lui for the Pacific and Mountain time zone editions, and Mara Schiavocampo or Veronica De La Cruz for the Eastern and Central time zone editions. It is the only early morning network newscast on any of the Big Three television networks that is not produced jointly with an overnight news program. The program is broadcast live at 4:00 a.m. Eastern Time, and is transmitted in a continuous half-hour tape delayed loop until 10:00 a.m. ET, when Today begins in the Pacific Time Zone. The show is updated for any breaking news occurring before 7:00 a.m. ET, while stations throughout the network will join Today in all time zones past that time at their local discretion or network orders for live coverage.

The World's Most Dangerous Magic was the title of two American television specials showcasing illusion and escapology acts, which were made for the NBC network. The first was originally broadcast on 27 April 1998 and the second, titled The World's Most Dangerous Magic 2, was initially aired on 2 May 1999. The shows were the brainchild of producer Gary Ouellet and were made by the Gary L Pudney Company. They featured a combination of famous performers and lesser-known magicians, each performing stunts or illusions that were claimed to involve the risk of death or serious injury. While some stunts clearly involved genuine life-threatening danger should anything have gone wrong, the risk of injury in others was open to question. In the first show, The Pendragons performed the illusion Impaled, which was described as a "balancing feat" in which Charlotte Pendragon risked fatal impalement should it go wrong. However this is a well known illusion in the general repertoire of stage magic in which the performer is not actually in danger of genuine impalement. The Pendragons' presentation of this illusion is nevertheless rated by many magicians as possibly the best ever version of the trick.

The host was Bill Cullen and Don Pardo served as announcer on most episodes, with Bob Clayton and NBC staffers Wayne Howell and Roger Tuttle substituting at times. The series was produced at NBC's Rockefeller Center in New York City. The program's title is wordplay on the superstition of the same name.

To Say the Least is an American game show that aired on NBC from October 3, 1977 to April 21, 1978. The show was produced by Heatter-Quigley Productions, hosted by Tom Kennedy and announced by Kenny Williams. This was Kennedy's third NBC show to debut in the span of one year; his first, 50 Grand Slam, was canceled after a 13-week run in December 1976 and was replaced by a daytime version of his hit Name That Tune, which was canceled in June 1977 after 26 weeks.

I'll Bet is an American game show that ran on NBC from March 29 to September 24, 1965. The series was created by Ralph Andrews, and hosted by Jack Narz. The series was a precursor to It's Your Bet, which was considerably more successful, running for four years.

Fantasy is an American game show franchise co-hosted by Peter Marshall and Leslie Uggams, with Chris Lemmon and Meredith MacRae as remote correspondents. Bill Armstrong announced the show, with substitutes from Johnny Gilbert and Charlie Tuna with Tuna replacing Armstrong about midway through the series' run. It aired on NBC from September 13, 1982 to October 28, 1983, and was videotaped at the network's studios in Burbank, California. The hourlong show offered contestants the opportunity to "make their dreams come true". It was nominated for six Daytime Emmy Awards, with one win to Uggams for the 1983 award for Outstanding Host or Hostess in a Variety Series. She was nominated for the same category in 1984. Game Show Network only aired one episode of the series.

Produced by Nancy's production company, Boots Enterprises, Inc., and sponsored by Royal Crown Cola, the show was originally broadcast on the NBC television network on December 11, 1967. It produced a companion soundtrack album, and was later released on DVD.

Race to the Altar is an American reality television series hosted by Lisa Dergan. The series premiered July 30, 2003, on NBC. The show found 8 engaged couples to compete in a series of physical and mental challenges designed to test the strength of their relationship. Couples who won the challenges become power couples and have the authority to eliminate other couples. The audience voted on the winning couple in the second-to-last episode and then in the last episode the winning couple gets the prize, a fantasy wedding planned by Colin Cowie. A two-hour series finale aired September 13, 2003.
