"This is the half hour film I made about my neighbor, Mister Butch, the exiled king of Kenmore Square, who lived in Allston MA USA at the same time I did, except that I had a roof over my head and he didn't. True to his word, Mister Butch died in the street in 2007. He was missed by many. I flew back to Boston for his memorial parade, I think there were like 1000 people in the street. To make this little no budget movie I had help from Amy Whitten, Jenny Tse, Jennet Cook, Star Nigro, James Ryan, and Nathan Lewis Hughes, among others."

On an island in southern Iran, where circumcision of both boys and girls is still practised, a small boy catches a glimpse of the ceremony and runs off terrified. His father eventually catches up with him and explains how circumcision is an important part of becoming a good muslim. The little boy is now totally confused.

It's Magic Time follows the vicissitudes in and around 'multi-channel experience marketing company' Magic Minds, brainchild of the irrepressibly optimistic ('On moratorium day, I play the piano') entrepreneur Erik Bartels. In a time when many good digital things must come to an end, this company converted its office for 3.6 million euros. Despite 'experience domes', a roof club and workout facilities, the relaxed Magic Minds atmosphere is soon replaced by rigorous commercialism. Sales targets and utilisation rates are not met, creditors are on their doorstep, and moneylender Nesbic is making things hot for them. After the first round of dismissals, the company gets in a free fall that leads to the verge of bankruptcy. Filmmaker Marco Zuilhof registered the developments at first hand. Negotiations, quarrels, dismissals and Bartels's fits of rage: Zuilhof was present. This makes It's Magic Time a stirring and disconcertingly concrete drama in a world of brand values and hot air.

Two fratries used to live together in a hearth that lies in a small village on the edge of the Rhine. Ten years old Bélinda and twelve years old Sabrina are brutally separated by a magistrate. From now on, both sisters must manage between loneliness and mare. Thirteen years old Anthony dreams of going away. In order to avoid both the school and the hearth, he leaves and learn joinery. His sister, between worship and irritation, looks at him growing from one visit to another. It is a film that follows the path from childhood to adolescence between here and elsewhere, between the hearth and the wide world.

With a style that mirrors documentary photography, Lê depicts Vietnam War reenactors staging theatrical battles in the forests of Virginia and soldiers at the Twentynine Palms, California, military base training for the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan — warlike activities without the mortal dangers of war.

The film is in the first person, from a girl. Ordinary people on a train are shown, each talking about their painful experiences... some crying, some singing, some reciting poetry. And everyone has their own story, their own pain, their own burden. The film is about an ordinary Ukrainian, and there are many of them, and everyone wants to be heard...
