The film was shot between 2023 and 2025 in Poland and in Italy, as a result of ethnographic research project, based on interviews and participant observation, which concerned creative documentary filmmaking as a tool for exploring contemporary art practices.

Paulina (35 years old) is out on parole after serving a prison sentence for the murder of her husband Andrzej. She returns to her hometown to meet her 11-year-old son Nikodem. Jadwiga (55 years old), Paulina's mother-in-law who takes care of Nikodem, does not want this meeting to take place. She is still grieving the loss of her son, Andrzej, and is unable to forgive Paulina for what she did. The film deals with domestic violence and its consequences.

The documentary opens with the return of Warsaw residents after the war – people walking in rags among the ruins. In time, life comes back to the city. “The 50s are a time of constant openings” – a tram line, an entertainment venue in the Polonia Hotel. The first fashion shows and hairdressing competitions are organised. News about fashion and trends from Western Europe reaches Warsaw.
