The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel i Jaipur i Indien lokker med løfter om luksus til små penge. Det får syv engelske pensionister til at sætte kurs mod Jaipur, hvor de håber på at tilbringe deres livs efterår i behagelige omgivelser. Desværre har hotellet temmelig svært ved at leve op til brochurens løfter. Til gengæld har det mange andre glæder at byde på.
