Militærmanden Thomas er blevet hårdt såret i Afghanistan, og tilbage i Danmark træner han stålfast flere timer om dagen, så han kan vende tilbage til livet som soldat. Under genoptræningen møder han balletdanseren Sofie, og de fatter sympati for hinanden.
