Any Day Now er baseret på en sand historie og centreret omkring drag’en Rudy (Alan Cumming) og advokaten Paul (Garret Dillahunt) som et noget mismatchende bøssepar i 70’erne. De tager Marco (Isaac Leyva), en dreng med Downs syndrom, til sig, da han bliver forsømt og efterladt alene af sin stofmisbrugende mor. Trods deres forskelligheder bliver de tre hurtigt en lille familie, men da deres situation bliver bekendt hos myndighederne, må de kæmpe en hård kamp mod et konservativt og homofobisk system.

22-årige Zak er født med Downs syndrom og bor på en institution. Han drømmer om at blive professionel wrestler og har tyndslidt sit gamle VHS bånd med optagelser af de største kampe.
