Det er lykkedes Thanos at få fat i alle evighedsstenene og med et enkelt knips udrydde halvdelen af universets beboere, inklusive en stor del af Avengers-holdet. De resterende superhelte må nu rejse sig af asken fra deres faldne kammerater og, imod alle odds, stå skulder ved skulder mod Thanos' altødelæggende kræfter. Slutspillet om universets skæbne er i gang.

"ØNSKES: En til at rejse tilbage i tiden med. Dette er ikke en joke. Du får betaling, når vi vender tilbage. Medbring dine egne våben. Jeg har kun gjort det her en gang før. SIKKERHED GARANTERES IKKE." Sådan lyder en kontakt annonce, der fanger Seattle journalisten Jeffs øjne. Han får til opgave at skrive en artikel om fyren, der påstår, han kan rejse i tiden, og han tager af sted til den idylliske by Ocean View sammen med de to praktikanter, Darius og Arnau. Her møder de den skingrende skøre Kenneth, der har indrykket annoncen. For han er da selvfølgelig skør, ikke? Man kan jo ikke rejse i tiden, vel? Kan man?

Universets sidste boglodid, udyret Boris, bryder ud af sin højsikkerhedscelle på Månen for at tage hævn over manden, der i 1969 skød hans højre arm af: Agent K. Med en tidsrejsedims, han har gaflet fra en medfange, tager Boris tilbage til '69 og myrder K, som derfor pludselig mangler i 2012. Følgelig må agent J rejse 40 år tilbage i tiden for at redde den unge og endnu ikke helt forbitrede agent K.

En tidsagent springer frem og tilbage mellem årene i kalenderen for at standse fremtidige kriminelle, før de begår deres brøde. På sin sidste mission optræder han som bartender i år 1963. For at fange den massemorder, som igen og igen er sluppet fra ham, allierer han sig med en kynisk, ung forfatter, som skriver under dæknavnet "Den enlige mor" og opruller sin barske livshistorie for Bartenderen.

Forfatteren H.G. Wells har opfundet en tidsmaskine, som Jack the Ripper udnytter som flugtmiddel. Han ender i 1970'erne tæt fulgt af H.G. Wells, der finder ud af, hvem hans ven i virkeligheden er. Da Jack finder ud af, at samfundet er langt mere voldeligt i det 20. århundrede og ikke er den utopi, som Wells sagde, begynder Jack igen at dræbe.

In 1982, Filmation carried the show over to the United States for syndication, and as a summer replacement in NBC's Saturday morning children's programming.
