I den med spænding imødesete Simpson-film må Homer redde verden fra en katastrofe, som han selv har forårsaget. Da den rammer den lille soveby, Springfield, bliver Homer jaget vildt, og han og resten af familien må flygte over hals og hoved. Den miljøkatastrofe, som Homer har afstedkommet, er også et problem for USAs præsident Arnold Schwarzenegger og lederen af EPA (den amerikanske miljøstyrelse), Russ Cargill, som udtænker en djævelsk plan for, hvordan man inddæmmer katastrofen. Med Springfields og hele verdens skæbne på spil må Homer i gang med at redde situationen og dermed få genoprejsning, og tilgivelse fra Marge og resten af familien, som er på opløsningens rand.

Hee-Bong har en lille café ved bredden af Seouls Han-flod. Han er enlig far og mens midlerne er små, er familiesammenholdet stort. Floden gemmer dog på en hemmelighed, som får store konsekvenser for den lille familie: En gigantisk, muteret haletudse, der skaber rædsel i hele den koreanske hovedstad, og som vælger at kidnappe Hee-Bongs yngste datter.

Dupont, et af verdens største kemikalieselskaber, har en hemmelighed. Siden 1950'erne har selskabet vidst, at en række af dets materialer er stærkt giftige. Nu, omkring år 2000 - og med sin karriere og sin familie som indsats - tager advokaten Robert Bilott kampen op med Dupont. Han kæmper for, at retfærdigheden skal ske fyldest i et lokalsamfund, som i årtier er blevet udsat for livsfarlige kemikalier.

Jan Schlickmann (John Travolta) er en kynisk advokat. Han får en sag, som han i begyndelsen bare vil have overstået. Han finder dog ud af, at den potentielt kunne være millioner værd. Han bliver besat af sagen i et sådan omfang, at han er villig til at opgive alt - inklusiv hans karriere og hans klients mål, for at kunne vinde sagen imod alle odds.

Idioterne Bud og Doyle bliver ved et tilfælde låst inde i en simuleret naturverden ude i ørkenen. Glashuset er ikke et indkøbscenter som de tror, men en del af et eksperiment, hvor de bliver tvunget til at være et helt år sammen med en gruppe forskere.

Den slatne gulvvasker Melvin bliver tvunget ud af et vindue og falder ned i en tønde med kemikalier. Disse forvandler ham på mirakuløs vis til The Toxic Avenger, Tromavilles beskytter! Nu har skurkene noget at bekymre sig for.

Året er 2142. Den eneste by, som har overlevet katastrofen: Ecoban. Byen holdes ved live af de forureninger, som konstant formørker himlen. Få personer har set en blå himmel, men en af dem er Shua – en ung mand, uskyldigt anklaget for mord. Nu står han i spidsen for et begyndende oprør blandt flygtningene.Da Shuas barndomskæreste Jay, som nu er i Ecobans hensynsløse sikkerhedsstyrker, mindes han om et gammelt løfte. Han skal vise hende, at der findes en blå himmel ovenover forureningen. At der findes et håb om en bedre verden.

London, år 2008. Ozonlaget fortsætter med at ændre vejret i uhyggelig grad. Effekten er et økologisk mareridt: Ukontrolleret forurening, oversvømmelser, kriminalitet, vold og oprør. However, their efforts, very often, are disturbed by two weasels, Skulk and Sammy, which strive to pollute the forest. Every so often the weasels receive help from Slink the snake. The three always strive to find new ways to disturb the harmony of the forest but their plans are destroyed always by the bears. The bears are always attentive to the advices of the old bear, Plato (who is too old to fly) and his friend Ozzy the owl. This cartoon helps children realize the importance of protecting the environment. The series shows the harmful effects of pollution and fires as well as the important role of the ecosystem.

Shown as part of Channel 4's Video Fantasies series, a selection of four innovative dramas deploying state-of-the-art visual and electronic effects. This was the only one of the four that had a futuristic basis. It was set perhaps a couple of decades ahead in a world being slowly drowned by technology, a world in which traffic jams are the norm instead of the exception, and where the people avoid getting caught in the rain for better reasons than simply not wanting to get wet. The Rachel of the title is the younger sister of an up-and-coming marketing executive who has just secured a contract with a wealthy but repulsive millionaire who is into toxic waste, which he stores in secret for large sums of money. Rachel finds that, through a large bank of video screens in her sister's apartment, her wishes can come true when she brings to life the image on an anti-pollution poster. This new friend helps her to make up her mind about her own future. The style of the production was fresh and colourful, the pace slow and moody for the most part, and it made for an interesting half-hour's viewing.
