Så for at kunne tage imod senatoren må Armand lave om på tingende.

FBI agenten Gracie Hart har med stor succes afværget en katastrofe ved den store skønhedskonkurrence, Miss United States - men nu bliver hun hele tiden genkendt. For stadigvæk at kunne arbejde for Bureauet lader hun sig overtale til at blive smukkeseret og stylet, sådan at hun kan blive FBIs officielle talskvinde. I starten er hun ikke så vild med det, men efterhånden vænner hun sig til al opmærksomheden, og der går ikke lang tid, før hun virkelig nyder sin nye rolle – måske en lille bitte smule for meget efter hendes nye partner, Sams smag. Any Day Now er baseret på en sand historie og centreret omkring drag’en Rudy (Alan Cumming) og advokaten Paul (Garret Dillahunt) som et noget mismatchende bøssepar i 70’erne. De tager Marco (Isaac Leyva), en dreng med Downs syndrom, til sig, da han bliver forsømt og efterladt alene af sin stofmisbrugende mor. Trods deres forskelligheder bliver de tre hurtigt en lille familie, men da deres situation bliver bekendt hos myndighederne, må de kæmpe en hård kamp mod et konservativt og homofobisk system.
