Χόλιγουντ, 1958. Η άμεση έλξη τους όχι μονάχα θέτει σε προβληματισμό των θέμα των θρησκειών τους, αλλά αψηφά και τον νούμερο ένα κανόνα του Χιουζ: κανείς υπάλληλος δεν επιτρέπεται να κάνει δεσμό με δική μου ηθοποιό. Η συμπεριφορά του Χιουζ διασταυρώνεται με τους χαρακτήρες των δύο αυτών ανθρώπων με έναν πολύ ξεχωριστό και απροσδόκητο τρόπο. Καθώς διεισδύουν βαθύτερα στον παράξενο κόσμο του κροίσου, οι αξίες τους τίθενται σε δοκιμασία και οι ζωές τους αλλάζουν για πάντα.

Προέχει η έγχρωμη φωτογραφία (που και σήμερα εντυπωσιάζει, πόσο μάλλον τότε), ότι κάθε πλάνο είναι και ένας ολοκληρωμένος πίνακας ζωγραφικής και, προ παντός, προέχει η διονυσιακή ατμόσφαιρα που δημιουργούν όλοι όσοι συναντώνται με την Ιουλιέττα (νεαρές πόρνες, μέντιουμ, εκκεντρικοί φίλοι από το παρελθόν, ένας ολόκληρος θίασος των αλλόκοτων χαρακτήρων που μας παρουσιάζει συνήθως ο F.F.!).

The observatory itself is a CGI creation, according to the DVD commentary, and only a partial doorway was constructed on site for filming purposes.
