Ο Αντουάν μοιάζει στους ήρωες των ταινιών για τις οποίες γράφει μουσική: είναι γοητευτικός, πετυχημένος και πορεύεται στη ζωή με χιούμορ όσο και με μια σχετική απάθεια. Όταν ταξιδεύει στην Ινδία για να δουλέψει σε μια ιδιαίτερα πρωτότυπη εκδοχή του Ρωμαίος και Ιουλιέτα γνωρίζει την Άννα, που δεν του μοιάζει σε τίποτα, αλλά τον ελκύει περισσότερο από όλες τις άλλες γυναίκες που έχει γνωρίσει.
