Μια εβραία με την ονομασία Jettel Redlich εγκαταλείπει τη ναζιστική Γερμανία με την κόρη της Regina, για να βρει τον σύζυγό της, Walter, σε ένα αγρόκτημα στην Κένυα. Αρχικά, η Jettel αρνείται να προσαρμοστεί στις νέες συνθήκες, φέρνοντας μαζί της μια σειρά από πιάτα από την Κίνα και ένα βραδινό φόρεμα. Ενώ η Regina προσαρμόζεται εύκολα σε αυτόν τον νέο κόσμο, σχηματίζοντας έναν ισχυρό δεσμό με τον μάγειρα του πατέρα της, έναν Αφρικανό που ονομάζεται Owuor.

Η 17χρονη Άντα είναι ερωτευμένη με τον Σουλεϊμάν αλλά τον συναντά μονάχα στα κρυφά καθώς σύντομα πρόκειται να παντρευτεί -παρά την θέληση της- ένα εύπορο άντρα, ικανό να της εξασφαλίσει μια άνετη ζωή. Ένα βράδυ, ο Σουλεϊμάν και η παρέα του επιχειρούν να περάσουν δια θαλάσσης στην μακρινή Ισπανία για να αναζητήσουν εκεί ένα καλύτερο μέλλον. Αρκετές μέρες αργότερα, μια μυστηριώδης φωτιά διακόπτει το γάμο της Άντα και ένας αστυνομικός καλείται να διερευνήσει το αναπάντεχο γεγονός. Κανείς δεν ξέρει, όμως, ότι ο Σουλεϊμάν - κατά κάποιο παράδοξο τρόπο - έχει μόλις επιστρέψει.

Η Άισα είναι μια παράτυπη μετανάστρια που εργάζεται ως νταντά για ένα ζευγάρι προνομιούχων στη Νέα Υόρκη. Καθώς ετοιμάζεται για την άφιξη του γιου που άφησε πίσω στη Δυτική Αφρική, μια βίαιη παρουσία εισβάλλει στην πραγματικότητά της, απειλώντας το αμερικανικό όνειρο που με τόσο κόπο έχτισε.

Η Σιμίν θέλει να φύγει. Ο Ναντέρ είναι δέσμιος του άρρωστου πατέρα του και δε θέλει να τον αφήσει μόνο. Ετσι χωρίζονται, και η κόρη τους, ελπίζοντας να γυρίσει γρήγορα η μητέρα της, μένει προσωρινά με τον Ναντέρ. Ανήμπορος να φροντίσει τον γέρο πατέρα του, ο Ναντέρ προσλαμβάνει μία γυναίκα για να τον περιποιείται. Αυτό που δεν ήξερε είναι ότι αυτή η γυναίκα δούλευε χωρίς την άδεια του συζύγου της και ότι ήταν έγκυος. Ή μήπως το ήξερε; Χωρίς να το καταλάβει ο Ναντέρ αιχμαλωτίζεται σε έναν ιστό από ψέματα και κοινωνικές αντιδικίες που καταστρέφουν τη ζωή, τα όνειρά του αλλά και την εικόνα του στα μάτια της κόρης του.

Έχοντας στο πλευρό του μόνο τη γυναίκα του, ένας πολλά υποσχόμενος νεαρός μποξέρ αφήνει την κομμουνιστική Πολωνία για να καταφέρει να γίνει ο καλύτερος πυγμάχος.

It's the story of two slightly crazy guys who are forced to leave their town, where the annual Gooseberry Days celebration is the biggest attraction, and go to London for work. To say, however, that the tour doesn't go according to plan would be a very mild description of what happens next. The protagonists get separated at the very beginning as a result of a gnarled party. The journey that follows is woven with a plethora of marvelous characters. The viewer will find among them: truckers, gypsy camper traders, anarchist squatters, recidivists hiding from the Polish justice system or go-go club employees.

The Oregon Trail is a 14-episode NBC western television series starring Rod Taylor as the widower Evan Thorpe, who leaves his Illinois farm in 1842 to take the Oregon Trail to the Pacific Northwest. The show also starred Andrew Stevens, Tony Becker, and Gina Marie Smika as Thorpe's children. Darleen Carr starred as Margaret Devlin, one of the passengers on the wagon train, and Charles Napier portrayed Luther Sprague, a frontier scout recruited by Thorpe. The series was filmed in the Flagstaff, Arizona area.
