Ο Κόιτσι και η Ατσούμι ήταν φίλοι από παιδιά και κατέληξαν να είναι και ζευγάρι. Ένα χρόνο πριν, η Ατσούμι έκανε απόπειρα αυτοκτονίας και έπεσε σε κώμα. Ο Κόιτσι ήθελε να μάθει απεγνωσμένα τους λόγους που την οδήγησαν στην απόπειρα και γι' αυτό συμμετέχει σε μία νέα ιατρική διαδικασία που στοχεύει στο κεντρικό νευρικό σύστημα.
