Aprill aastal 1945. Sõjas karastunud seersant nimega Wardaddy istub Sherman-tanki roolis ja juhib viieliikmelist meeskonda eluohtlikul missioonil vaenlase tagalas. Wardaddy'l ja tema meestel seisab ees otsustav vastasseis natsi-Saksamaaga.
