Po on noor hakkaja pandakaru, kelle pähe ei mahu muud peale kung fu. Kuna ta on aga ka parajalt paks ja kaunikesti kohmakas, siis ei tule sellest kunagi midagi head, kui ta oma isa nuudlipoes treenida proovib. Suur on kõigi üllatus, kui Po valitakse välja selleks, et viia ellu iidne ennustus ning päästa rahulik org kurja vaenlase käest. Po elab kui unenäos, kui saab treenida koos legendaarse Vihase Viisikuga, Mao, Ritsiku, Ahvi, Kure ja Tiigriga, ning veel nende õpetaja Shifu käe all! Aga ilus aeg lõpeb ruttu, kui 20 aastat vangis istunud kättemaksuhimuline lumeleopard Tai Lung põgeneb ning asub nende poole teele. Kas Po saab hakkama peaaegu võimatuna näiva ülesandega omandada kung fu suurimad saladused enne otsustavat heitlust?

Po saab taas kokku oma pikalt kadunud olnud isa Liga. Nad siirduvad koos pandade pelgupaika, kus kohtuvad lõbusate veidrikega. Ent kui välja ilmub müstiline kurjam Kai, õel pull, kes varastab kung fu meistrite elujõudu, peab Po oma metsameestest kaaslastele kung fu'd õpetama.

Po elu unistus on täitunud, temast sai Lohesõdalane ning ta kaitseb Rahu orgu koos oma parimate sõprade, Vägeva Viiskuga. Aga Po ägedalt laheda elu ähvardab ära rikkuda uus võimas kurikael, kelle käsutuses olev koletu relv võib alistada terve Hiina ning hävitada koguni kung fu! Po peab koos sõpradega rändama Hiina teise otsa, et see oht kõrvaldada. Aga kuidas saab üks parajalt paks kung fu panda peatada relva, mille võimuses on peatada kung fu? David Tennant narrates the story of giant pandas Tian Tian and Yang Guang, who arrived in the UK in December 2011 to be resettled in Edinburgh Zoo for the next decade. The program also follows the zoo's vet and head keeper as they travel to China to see how giant pandas are cared for in their homeland, and head keeper Alison visits a remote panda reserve in Wolong to witness the efforts to reintroduce the creatures back into the wild.

After losing her corporate job, 27-year-old Liu Liu takes a three-month stint as a new media specialist at a giant panda reserve. Initially planning to take it easy, she faces unexpected workplace challenges under the stern researcher Xie Daoyun. Surrounded by the healing charm of the adorable panda Bao Bao, the two gradually turn from reluctant colleagues into a strong partnership, and Liu Liu learns that life can bloom with joy in the most unexpected places.

Nigel heads to China to learn about giant pandas for his latest adventure. He visits the beautiful reserves the pandas inhabit, before heading into the wild to achieve his ambition of being the first presenter to be filmed with a giant panda in its native habitat. He is also astonished to witness a brown panda cub, one of only five known to science. Along his journey Nigel meets the other amazing creatures that live in the bamboo forest, including naughty macaques, golden snub-nosed monkeys and fluffy bamboo rats. He also feeds adorable red pandas, distant relatives of the giant panda.
