A detailed reconstruction of the events from Nov. 9th to 11th, 1989, which led to the Berlin wall tumbling down, on a local, national and international level.

From 1928 to 1943, Haus Vaterland was a large restaurant and entertainment palace in Berlin on Potsdamer Platz, originally run by Kempinksi, with around one million visitors per year, which can be regarded as the forerunner of today's event gastronomy. In the guest rooms there were a variety of theme restaurants, including the Palmensaal, a dance hall, where in addition to musical and artistic events, demonstrations and variety programs. The visitors of Haus Vaterland were mainly tourists from outside Berlin.

Germany in the early 19th century. "Die Vermessung der Welt" follows the two brilliant and eccentric scientists Alexander von Humboldt and Carl Friedrich Gauss on their life paths.

Richard, a sparrow adopted by a stork family, is wintering at the Great Lake in Northern Africa. When he realises that he won’t be the one to lead his flock back North, Richard decides to travel on his own and crosses paths with Samia and her sparrow flock, who are being held captive by evil marabous under the control of greedy peacock Zamano. The only chance of freedom for the sparrows is to solve a riddle and find the Great Jewel, which will call upon teamwork, trust and most of all- spork (sparrow + stork) skills.

On March 25, 1996, the publicist Jan Philipp Reemtsma is kidnapped. His son Johann and his wife Ann Kathrin witness how their home is transformed overnight into a police control center. Two police officers, the family’s lawyer and a close friend form a community of fate, united by their common goal of bringing Johann’s father home as quickly and unharmed as possible.

Spring 1945: the Allies are outside Hamburg. In front of a movie theater, Lena Brücker meets Hermann Bremer, a marine assigned to the 'final battle on the home front'. After a night of love, Lena offers to hide the young man in her apartment during the last days of the war. This marks the beginning of a life-threatening love adventure for both of them, which they must keep secret from the rest of the world. While Lena blossoms over the next few weeks, Hermann suffers from his confinement and the constant fear of being discovered. Nevertheless, Lena will not tell her lover that the war is over so that she can spend as many days as possible with him on their shared 'mattress island' while everything changes outside.

A television documentary directed by Marcel Ophüls examining the Munich Conference of September 28, 1938, when European leaders met to avert the outbreak of war. Through archival documents and interviews, the film reconstructs the political atmosphere surrounding negotiations between Britain and France on one side and Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy on the other, situating the agreement within the broader context of European appeasement in the face of fascism.

Arne comes into the family of an old friend of his father as a foster child. He hopes to find closeness and security with Harald, his wife Elsa and their children Hans, Wiebke and Lars. But he finds it difficult to integrate - his trust in the community has been shaken by his great misfortune. However, he feels attracted to Wiebke, even though she keeps distancing herself from him. After Arne's clumsiness causes the sailing boat that the young people had restored together to be wrecked during the launch and he is supposedly a traitor after a joint theft, a rift occurs with Wiebke and her brothers. Harald is also deeply disappointed in his foster son.

Summer 1944, Schwäbisch Hall. Contrary to the war propaganda and the decreed heroism, the 16-year-old boys dream of Swing music, sex and freedom - and of Lore, the air force helper from the air base, who attracts all eyes in her red swimsuit. At the same time, uncle, Knuffke, Bubu, tongue kiss and Hosenmacher suspect that they will not escape the horror of the front. "Stay tuned," Lore calls after them. But tongue kiss gets it first and also pants maker will not survive the war.

It is an autobiographical fiction starring Ivens as an old man who has spent his life trying to "tame the wind and harness the sea" by capturing them on film.

Roy and Bruno Singer are a father and son team that couldn't be more different. While the thoroughbred musician Roy earns his money in Berlin with business that is not always legal, Bruno works for the Hamburg police. His dream is to join the homicide squad and win the heart of his colleague Kyra Sperling. His boss Tamara Rosenberg strongly advises him to stay away from his father, who is on the record.

Sassnitz is a small coastal town at the Baltic Sea on the Island of Rügen. In its vicinity are the world-famous chalk cliffs, a tourist magnet. The Mukran Port is also part of the municipality. The overseas port is the starting point for the construction of Nord Stream 2, a natural gas pipeline that connects Germany directly with Russia. In 2020, the port town hit the international headlines. Even the New York Times reported and cited Mayor Frank Kracht as a staunch opponent from the northeast German province against the rumbling America of Donald Trump. The reason is the undisguised threat from Washington to ruin the international port economically if the natural gas pipeline continues to be built from there. Many jobs and the region's economic stability are at risk. Reporter Klaus Scherer documents the case, questions experts as well as those affected and looks at the behavior of national politicians towards the USA and how they react to the interference in internal affairs.

Lyonel Feininger's work is as individual and unmistakable as he is himself. As a classical modernist artist, he is difficult to categorize. He lived and worked in Germany for a long time. He began his career as a caricaturist, later became known as a painter and headed the printing workshops at the Bauhaus. His work cannot be classified as cubism or expressionism. The film visits places that inspired him, such as Paris, the villages around Weimar and, above all, the Baltic coast - many of which are reflected in Feininger's work and make the development of his oeuvre comprehensible.

Mia and her partner Benny, along with Mia's sister, Alicia, will be in charge of solving some puzzling cases that are happening in their city Hamburg. Surrounded by ghosts and mysterious characters this group of friends, accompanied by other young people, follow their clues.
