A disowned son of a Greek aristocrat arrives in Hungary in 1949 over his family’s communist beliefs and starts work in the Lágymányos tobacco factory, where he falls for Gizi Weiss and fathers their first child in 1953. Fifty years later, the now-destitute “Ratkó baby” is whisked from the Baross Square underpass to Crete by a legion of lawyers to claim his share of a legendary inheritance.

The film, taking place in 1950, presents the story of Father Leopold and the monks of his order struggling to once again revive Christianity in a country trying to scrape itself together after the war. Initially, the communist powers do not hinder their work, and the Church was even able to regain possession of holy objects hidden during the war. This "peaceful" state does not last long. Father Leopold is arrested on trumped up charges, and in order to break him, he is subjected to cruel torture. His former student, Lieutenant Keller, who turned his back on religion and now believes in the socialist system, is appointed - upon the command of Major Fyodorov - to extract a confession of guilt. But the Father's perseverance and resistance changes everything.

A pointless, hedonistic guy is sliding down the slope of self-destruction. One day he goes through one of the strangest trips of his life: he finds himself in an alternative world where he has to face his own dark secret.

Miklós Mészöly's short novel Film aims to show the last few hours of an elderly couple's life. The last moments of two people who, in the midst of historical storms, inhumanity and loss of values, remained together in the strange grip of love and dependence. The most moving is the formulation of the fundamental question: can we and can we say goodbye with dignity, how much we are lost and vulnerable when we set off into the unknown.

The tumultuous history of Hungary through the twentieth century is viewed through the saga of the Hungarian-Jewish, furniture-manufacturing family, the Vendels. After taking over the once successful, but now failing, family business in the 1930s, the family patriarch's dashing elder son decides that the family needs an infusion of new blood. A matchmaker presents him with a photo of a pretty German nursery school teacher. When the two meet, they instantly fall in love, but because Hungary has an alliance with Germany, and the Third Reich prohibits marriage between Gentiles and Jews, the couple must hide their union. Their marriage ultimately stands as a dark foreshadowing of rougher times to come as troubles ensue with the advent of World War II, when the family, its employees and servants must retreat to the basement, where the shop emerges increasingly as a refuge in a world growing more violent and less tolerant.

Using verite conventions, a young couple with a baby and a child are worn away by the monotony of their lives.

The film takes place the Budapest Amusement Park in 1919, just before and during the proletarian dictatorship. The life and work of a retired model maker.

The film weaves together three stories from Hortobágy. It takes a sacred approach to the honesty, fallibility, stubbornness and deep emotions of the ancient people of Hortobágy. The director was inspired by Zsigmond Móricz's short story "Komor Ló" and the writer's realistic yet mystical vision to film two other stories told by the people of the Hortobágy, set in 1945 and after the communist coup.

Set in a large apartment in Hungary during the death throes of communism, obedient Andor lives with his eccentric mother, Rebeka, a once-celebrated stage actress-turned-recluse. After years of coexisting in a love-hate relationship marked by routine and possible incest, Andor brings home Eszter, a beautiful girl his own age. Her advances awaken Andor's repressed desires, the depths of which prove shocking. Opera director Robert Alfoldi renders this bizarre story in a melodramatic style, and veteran Hungarian stage star Dorottya Udvaros rises to the occasion. If you can imagine the intersecting area on a Venn diagram that includes Taxidermia and Sunset Blvd., that's where Where Were You, My Son? was born. The original title, Nyugalom, which translates to Tranquility, is ironic to say the least. ...over the-top...memorable...thunderous...sex and violins (Variety).

A deep drama about life in Hungary after the WW2 until the revolt against Russians in '56. The main character is the head of the black market in Budapest. He thinks he can buy everyone and everything but at the end he must face that he can't buy life. A must-see for everyone. Casting involves some of the greatest Hungarian actors. The story takes place in the eighth district of Budapest focusing on the market place on Teleki square which is still working. The movie contains some archive footage of real fight during the revolution.

In the spirit of Frigyes Karinthy, an amusing pixilation burlesque about the everyday life of a graduating class, starring pantomime actors.

A family series about a group of children who suddenly find a robot called Jimmy.

Pocok is a seventh grader and the youngest member of his brother's gang. The gang of teenagers wants to buy a motorcycle. They borrow one while they collect the money. Pocok also wants to ride a motorcycle, but they won't let him. His brother and his friends commit a crime, and Pocok gets involved against his will.

A few kids make a circus show for their sick friend, and get in some trouble along the way.

On a rainy day a stray puppy named Buksi arrives on Futrinka Street. The cat Cicamica adopts him, and Morzsa, an old dog, plays a fatherly role. Buksi gets to know the neighborhood, makes friends, gets in trouble, and goes on adventures.

"Who is Pom Pom? How come you don't know me? Hoo! Nobody really knows me, because sometimes I'm like this, sometimes I'm like that. I can change my shape amazingly: if I want, I am like a fur patch, or a wig, or one-finger fur gloves turned inside out, or a room-painting scrub, or a cotton tassel on the toe of a slipper. Now I look most like a fur hat, sitting on the branch, a nice long branch, up-heh-heh-heh, down-heh-heh-heh, as a breeze sways the branch..."
