Berkeh, a political prisoner, is the son of Siyamak, one of the women killed by a serial killer. Mehrdad, a young homosexual with an Afghan father and an Iranian mother, was born in Iran but lacks documentation due to his father's identity. They decide to leave Iran. In the form of a filmmaking group with Sali and Siyamak, they head towards the border. The police become suspicious of Salim and Siyamak, targeting Salim with a gunshot.
The fish is yearning to see the sea once again. He asks a cat, a mouse, a dog and a crow for help, one after another. They each eat a part of his flesh and carry him some distance down the path to the sea. But after a while, one by one, they put him down and leave. At the end, some ants throw the fish's skeleton into the sea. The fish happily swims away in the deep blue sea.
Lethargy is a state of bewilderment and sleepiness accompanied by a disturbance in awareness of time and place. It is a condition where the person's alertness is reduced, and speech, movement, and perception of reality become sluggish and impaired.
We can say that "Kuj" means curved or curved-back. A curvature resulting from the heavy burden of memory and remembering it, when the sole survivor of a feeling and emotion is nothing but noise and image. And there is no solution but to look at it again and again.
A short film that seems like a dreamscape, where sounds from the nature, music and poetic images are combined with ease, but we are clear that behind all this lies a personal experience and a strong authorial expression. Although never verbally stated, the author sends a clear feminist message of equality and freedom.
