Fourteen Years in China 1993
Ólafsson was a poor country boy from Iceland, born in 1895, who at 18 years of age received the call that changed his life. Suddenly he was obsessed with the idea of becoming a missionary in China. In spite of all the obstacles in his way he made it first to Norway, where he got into a missionary school, and then to the land of his dreams, China, through America, Canada and Japan. In China he met his Norwegian wife, who was aslo a missionary, and four of their children were born there. Ólafsson fled with his family to Hong Kong and then to Europe after the city of Shanghai had surrendered to the Japanese in 1937. The documentary is mostly made of old films by Ólafsson himself and some old film stock.

Beyond the Limits 1984
A documentary about the miraculous survival of an Icelandic fisherman, after his boat sank off the shores of the Westman Islands in mid winter. All the crew drowned except one, Gudlaugur Fridthórsson, who swam five and a half kilometers in the ice cold sea and then walked barefoot over a field of sharp lava to reach help. Specialists have made tests on Gudlaugur to determine how he managed to survive seven times longer than any ordinary man under these conditions.

A film about the island of Viðey in Kollafjörður and its manifold role in Icelandic history.
Will There Be Salmon Tomorrow? 1983
The film shows in detail how Icelandic rivers are cultivated, with particular emphasis on maintaining fish stock. There are scenes from a salmon hatchery, the release of the young salmon, the catch of adult fish for egg collection and the salmon ladders. The second half of the film shows fishing in two of Iceland's finest rivers. There are many underwater shots which include the salmon taking the bait and its fight for survival.
With Compliments from Iceland 1982
All marketing is done through Coldwater Seafood Corporation, which is an affiliated company of the Icelandic Freezing Plants Corp. Coldwater also own and operate two fish plants in the USA, where they produce great varieties of processes sea-products. The film fallows fish from Iceland to the States, shows the marketing and distribution system and fallows the fish through quality control, processing and finally the distribution.

From Siberia with Love 1981
For centuries driftwood from the European mainland and all teh way from Siberia has washed up on the shores of Iceland. This film shows a driftwood expedition casting off at a fishing village on the east coast of Iceland, bound for the deserted Langanes headland in the far north-east. The film not only shows the collecting of driftwood, but also deals with the history of the settlement on the headland, narrated in part by the last farmer to leave.

A film about scientific research on the glacier Vatnajökull with excerpts from films taken on the glacier by various film makers in the past.
240 Fish For 1 Cow 1973
Made during a period when Iceland was still extending its fisheries' zone, this film deals with the total dependence of Icelanders on the fishing industry. The film is partly based on the author's personal reflections and includes an animated sequence of a T.V. interview with a cod.
