داستان این فیلم براساس رمانی به همین نام و با الهام از داستان فرانکنشتاین نوشته شده است و روایت‌گر زنی جوان به نام بلا بکستر است که توسط دانشمندی مستعد و به نوعی عجیب و غیر معمول از مرگ به زندگی بازمی‌گردد. بلا بکستر تحت محافظت این دانشمند، مشتاق يادگيری و تشنه دنیادیدگی است و کمبود آن‌را درون خود احساس می‌کند. به دنبال همین حس، روزی او به همراه وکیلی فاسد و جذاب فرار و ماجراجویی‌ای را آغاز می‌کند.

Facejacker is a Channel 4 comedy series which started on 16 April 2010. It follows the similar show Fonejacker. Kayvan Novak adopts various disguises, including several characters heard in Fonejacker. To promote the show, Novak appeared at Channel 4's Comedy Gala as Terry Tibbs on April 5. Series 2 finished filming in July 2011 and premiered on 27 March 2012. The series concluded on 1 May 2012. Novak plans to create a film based on the show's characters, and is currently in talks with Film4 and Hat Trick Productions.

Called a "punk rock 60 Minutes" and "wilder than Jackass" by the Los Angeles Times and Wired magazine, the sixteen 30-minute episodes produced for C4 were then cut down to four one-hour "specials" intended for the SciFi Channel in America, but never aired due to their controversial nature. According to interviews, Metzger was told just twelve days prior to the first specials' air-date that he would have to cut 50% of the material to pass USA Network's lawyers' scrutiny. Those four shows have been released on DVD with a bonus disc presenting highlights of DisinfoCon, a twelve hour event featuring shock rocker Marilyn Manson, Kenneth Anger, Joe Coleman, Douglas Rushkoff, Mark Pesce, Grant Morrison, Robert Anton Wilson and others.
