جرمی فیتزجرالد در سال ۱۹۸۷، پس از زندگی‌ای پر فراز و نشیب، شغلی به‌عنوان نگهبان امنیتی در پیتزا فروشی جدید فرِدی فزبیِر پیدا کرد، اما با ورود به آنجا فهمید که همه چیز آن‌طور که به نظر می‌رسد نیست.

این فیلم داستان اچ را روایت می‌کند. او شخصیتی سرد و مرموز است که در یک کمپانی حمل و نقل پول نقد مشغول به کار است. این کمپانی هر هفته صدها میلیون دلار را در سراسر لس‌آنجلس جابجا می‌کند.

یک مرد جوان به مشکل خورده به‌نام مایک که به‌تازگی اخراج شده و به‌دنبال کار است، موافقت می‌کند به‌عنوان نگهبان شبانه در یک رستوران متروکه مآب به‌نام: پیتزا فروشی فردی فزبر، موقعیتی را به‌عهده بگیرد. اما به‌زودی متوجه می‌شود که هیچ چیز در فردی آنطور که به‌نظر می‌رسد نیست.
