فیلم بر اساس کتابی از آندرو نیدرمن ساخته شده است. کوین لومکس ( با بازی کیانو ریوز ) یک وکیل مدافع جوان، بی باک و شکست ناپذیر ساکن شهری کوچک در فلوریدا است. او توسط قدرتمندترین شرکت حقوقی دنیا در نیویورک استخدام می شود و با وجود مخالفت مادرش که نیویورک را شهری پر از فساد می داند پیشنهاد کار را پذیرفته و بهمراه همسرش به نیویورک می رود. اما بزودی همسرش شروع به دلتنگی می کند و اسرار دارد که برگردند اما کوین در شغل جدیدش غرق شده و توجه کمتری به همسرش دارد. همسرش پس از مدتی اشباحی اهریمنی را در اطراف خود می بیند و رفته رفته دچار جنون می شود. او روزی ادعا می کند که رئیس کوین، جان میلتون ( با بازی آل پاچینو ) به او تجاوز کرده است اما در همان روز میلتون بهمراه کوین در دادگاه بوده است.....

So it is some big surprise to him when he gets saddled with watching Yuzuyu, a cute little girl.Yuzuyu`s mother has gone missing, and so Kippei`s family is watching her until her mother can be found. Of course, since Kippei could use a few lessons in responsibility, he is the "best" choice for the job.This story is working out to be very cute. Kippei`s natural "mother" instinct is really brought to the front while trying to to his best for Yuzuyu, but he is a boy. His ineptitude regarding the smallest things a mother would need to know [like packing a lunch for school] are endearing rather than hokey, and the character of Yuzuyu is cute, without being overly so.
