A man suffers from leprosy. The disease progresses in such a way that it drives him to madness, without his wife's knowledge. She begins to suffer a progressive moral deterioration, which completely ruins the marital relationship, this intense conflict leads to the worst outcome.
An aeroplane in the sky writes the word Pongo in large letters. We see reaction shots from members of the public who look up into the sky. A man who is filming a young boy looks up at the skywriting through a telescope at the same time. The aeroplane drops a large box from the sky. It crashes on the ground and Pongo jumps out bowing, pirouetting and looking very pleased with himself. A policeman comes along and says "Where's your Collar?"
And now, in this first issue of a new All-British series of Cartoons..." Animation featuring the fabulous Jerry the Troublesome Tyke - a cartoon dog. A U.I.C. production. A pen magically writes the words: "His mother was a "Nib" and his father was a "Big Pot." - we see drawings of a pen and a bottle of ink.
It's love among the mice in this very elaborate Paul Terry-Aesops fable silent. There are some nice absurdities to keep it interesting, both in the social assumptions --you can tell the rich mouse, not only because he drives a car, but because he wears a top hat, while the poor mouse (who is, I would guess, Adenoid) wears a straw hat -- and in the venue: the rich mouse takes the lady mouse to a nightclub in a large fish, where an octopus is a one-man band; she is kidnapped by a fish in a fedora and subsequently rescued by the poor mouse.
Felix, hungry and looking for a meal, hears that food is plentiful down south, and decides to check it out...
A motherless family is thrown into crisis when the father is injured at work. With no workers' compensation to fall back on, the eldest daughter, Mary, has to work long hours for low wages until she collapses. As a result, her coworkers band together to unionize.
It's 1925 on the River Thames and Jack Beresford cruises to an easy victory in The Gold Cup - so easy his opponent, American Walter Hoover, is out of view. Beresford had successfully defended the title he won in 1924, the same year he won his first of three Olympic gold medals. Beresford, CBE, is one of Britain's most outstanding rowers and his streak of winning five medals in five consecutive Olympic Games was only beaten Sir Steve Redgrave at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
A commercial promoting products from the Schicht company. Two gentlemen in suits enter a laundry and dispute over the soaking linen which washing powder is better - Radion, or Schichtal. Their discussion gradually develops into an argument and finally into a fistfight. The next frames present a collage composed of photographs of the washing powder Schichtal, a seductive sphinx and a little head of a man accompanied by text recommending products from the Schicht company (Radion, Schichtal, Kalodont, Elida and Ceres). The commercial for the Czechoslovak-based Schicht company was filmed abroad. Information as to whether the film was submitted for censorship is unknown. The title originates from the text presented at the beginning of the commercial and the year of production was estimated.
