East Coast responds to the textures, forms and elemental light play observed along a stretch of coastline in Happisburgh, Norfolk. It was first screened on BBC 2 television in the UK, where it was likened to the work of visionary film maker Pat O'Neil and his innovative multilayering of images using optical printing. This film creates similar effects by exposing each roll of film up to five times, using a Bolex 16mm camera. The film opens at Wells Next the Sea, and observes beach life in the gaps between the long row of beach huts. A fast film stock adds an intense painterly grain to the scene. The movement of waves drying on sun bleached sand are overlapped and rendered as kinetic abstractions. Each sequence is accompanied by a montage of natural sounds, which seek to suggest a musical equivalence of treatment, alongside the visuals.

A film by the legendary cinema studio KyivNaukFilm, which popularized complex science concepts, and the explanation of what cybernetics is, not just as a “science, but also as a certain position, attitude to the world.

A dark film that explores images of survival, reproduction and death.

Yasin is a well-educated son of a Pir of a village. Suddenly his father dies in a truck accident. Yasin returns to his village and searches for the truck driver to avenge his father's death. Since he is the son of the Pir, people of the village respect him and find something spiritual in him. He ignores it and starts staying in the home of one of his father's friends. Sometimes he talks with his father through his spiritual ability. Pori Banu is the daughter of his father's friend and in a relationship with truck driver, Lokman. Yasin and Pori Banu become good friends. Meanwhile, he realizes his spiritual ability and starts accomplishing tasks quickly and easily. But when he starts falling love with Pori, the power starts diminishes. Now, he tries to get the power back.

The "Rainbow express", one of Naïrobi’s many collective taxis, follows its daily itinerary. Discovery of one of these "Matatus", from its manufacture in Kariobangi by a local craft company, to the transport of its passengers, through its driver and billeter.

In the 1970s, Val del Omar started to film frequently in Super 8. These reels, in the form of essays and notebooks, include the fabulous experiences with image and light that he investigated in his PLAT laboratory, and a series of private recordings (trips, holidays, portraits), that also include variations and experiments on his main themes (water, flowers, the Alhambra…). Transfiguring his most everyday reality, Val del Omar continued the revelations of its mecamystics: “The extraordinary is in the bowels of the everyday […] I feel as though I am submerged in a palpitating being. Logical chains enchain and imprison us.”

Charcoal drawings depict the bleak world of the worker. Pastel drawings illustrate his dreams. Oftentimes, they are dreams created by the media. Are they tailored to his real needs? Or his pocketbook? This film comments indirectly on the impact of publicity and its power to develop appetites that cannot be satisfied.

The sails are hoisted and, leaving the port, a sailboat makes us live its discovery of the sea. Subjected to the capricious mood of the weather, it sails sometimes under a burning sun to the incessant rhythm of the waves, sometimes faces the fury of the waves, then calm returns.

This animated film carries a positive message about the importance of helping others. Friends of the Family centres around a sister and brother who awaken each morning to a secure and comfortable environment where all their needs are taken care of. When plans to collect for UNICEF are discussed over breakfast, the boy questions the reasons for doing so. A sweep of the animator's brush sends the children into a world they have never before seen, a world without even the necessities of life. Through the experience, they realize the purpose of raising funds for foreign aid and at the same time learn how children can make a worthwhile contribution to their brothers and sisters around the world.
