Paul on huippulääkäri, joka on uhrannut perhesuhteensa työlleen. Kun rutiinileikkaus menee mönkään ja naispotilas kuolee, miehen itsetunto ja elämä murenevat. Paul on viimeistelemässä talonsa myymistä. Vaimo on lähtenyt, eivätkä välit ainoaan poikaan ole kovin hyvät. Paul haluaa lähteä kaupungista jonnekin rauhallisenn paikkaan selvittämään ajatuksiaan ja omaa tulevaisuutta. Adrienne on rakastava äiti, joka yrittää jatkaa elämäänsä miehensä uskottomuuden jälkeen. Hänen on aika pohtia vakavasti omaa tilannettaan ja tarttuu ystävänsä kutsuun hoitaa syrjäistä rannikolla sijaitsevaa majataloa, tämän käydessä työmatkalla Miamissa. Sattuman oikusta Paul majoittuu Adrienne emännöimään majataloon. Kun kaksikko painii ongelmiensa kanssa, rannikkoa lähestyy hirmumyrsky. Myrsky pakottaa heidät hakemaan voimia toisistaan, ja tilaisuus elämänmakuiselle romanssille on valmis.

Dick Loudon and his wife Joanna decide to leave life in New York City and buy a little inn in Vermont. Dick is a how-to book writer, who eventually becomes a local TV celebrity as host of "Vermont Today." George Utley is the handyman at the inn and Leslie Vanderkellen is the maid, with ambitions of being an Olympic Ski champion; she is later replaced by her cousin Stephanie, an heiress who hates her job. Her boyfriend is Dick's yuppie TV producer, Michael Harris. There are many other quirky characters in this fictional little town, including Dick's neighbors Larry, Darryl, and Darryl...three brothers who buy the Minuteman Cafe from Kirk Devane. Besides sharing a name, Darryl and Darryl never speak.

Our Inn is a large scale space time scenario experience variety show which features 7 regular members who are partners of the inn.
