Kako Sauron započinje posljednju fazu pokoravanja Međuzemlja, čarobnjak Gandalf i Kralj Theoden od Rohana udružuju snage kako bi zaštitili glavni grad Gondora, Minas Tirith od ove prijetnje. Aragorn konačno mora preuzeti kraljevski tron Gondora pa okuplja vojsku duhova kako bi porazio Saurona.
