An attempt to make a short film about a traditional Kosovar face painter in an ethnic Bosnian village.

Glasgow during lockdown: Empty streets, empty roads, playparks devoid of life with a population hiding indoors. Juxtaposed alongside this footage is an audio voiceover read by a survivor of the 1992 – 1995 Sarajevo siege in Bosnia. They describe their city in lockdown, day to day life, their challenges, thoughts, fears and their hopes. The voiceover could easily be that of a Glaswegian in Spring 2020. 

There are striking similarities between this wartime siege and the lockdown experienced in Glasgow.
Just as in Sarajevo, our freedom of movement was very limited – we couldn't travel, go to pubs and restaurants, children couldn't go to school.

The film follows M, who works dealing drugs at night in the city.

In 1990 a group of young students from the Art High school in Sarajevo forms the band Protest. The same year they have their first concert under that name and shortly after that they enter a recording studio and record their first demo. 30 years later, after the war, 5 albums, a dozen of hits, countless gigs, and plenty of line-up changes, Protest still exists and works. This is a tale about love, music, and rebellion in the complex Balkan reality, symbolically titled PROTEST IN CARIESLAND.

It was once an Ivo the Tzar, born on the slopes of the picturesque but crisp mountains Rudnik in Serbia. Ivo dreamed of great dreams for which there is usually no place in the Balkan towns, let alone in the farmer’s countryside. The fate, however, made sure that Ivo made his Hollywood in his village Mutanj. If you think that magic realism is possible only in art, you are mistaken. Meet Ivo the Tzar and the only village with red carpet on the Balkans! The reality in there is fantastic!

A child in Dobrinja neighborhood of Sarajevo under siege, has a hobby of collecting bomb shells.

Film uses the aesthetics of cell phone cameras, which the director used after he was diagnosed with angina and his doctors recommended fast walking. He has transformed the 3,000 kilometers he walked over three years into a collage of playful, experimental, and lyric moments and family and social situations, all seen with a sense of tenderness and irony.

Sule is a hard-living, chain smoking poet - one of the few remaining bohemians left in London's Portobello. Drinking and gambling with his eastern european friends has left him estranged from his family and, even though he is surrounded with people, he feels utterly alone. His one consolation is his dream of one day returning to his beloved place of birth. But when his best friend dies, Sule is thrown into crisis. Suddenly confronted with his own mortality, Sule gets one last chance to turn things around when the Bosnian embassy invites him to exhibit a series of paintings entitled Guidance Through the Black Hole. The date for the exhibition is set, but the paintings are still not finished and Sule knows that if he is to succeed he must first overcome his vices. The question is: can Sule escape his dark past and find a way out of the black hole that he is creating on his canvases?

The year is 2156. The civilization you know more does not exist. All this was preceded by wars. Natural disasters of great magnitude. Now the rule ... that there is no rule, the law does not exist. There is only hunger, death and hunting ...

How well do we remember the war? Is it hard for us to talk about it? Do we start remembering suddenly when talking about it? The film investigates the trauma, but not aiming at human pain. On the contrary, this film attempts to open the abysses of the war denial, which have become a dominant, but silent dimension of everyday life in post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The author uses his home movies and photographs taken at significant moments of his life that had shaped him into the man he is today. The film presents his innocent childhood, his love for his profession, his first encounters with camera and his experiences during the war that forced him out of his home. The war turned a boy into a soldier and left victims in its wake - both death and alive - as well as memories that provoke tears and anger, but also laughter. The war also defined his take on life and almost destroyed his dreams.

In a public park, plastic bags are rolling in the wind.

It tells about the stopping of Yugoslav National Army tanks in Polog on May 7, 1991, and depicts the events of May 7, 8, and 9, 1991. The complexity of the situation is presented. Through the interview with the actual participants, one can see the full spectrum of problems, conflicts with superiors, with ordinary protesters who, under the great rush of adrenaline, were prepared to give their lives under tank tracks.

A story about a retired soldier and a former homeless man, now living in his hard-won new home – the Centre for the Homeless.

A Bosnian woman is released from prison after 13 years. She comes back home, where she finds her young son and his pregnant girlfriend. With luggage and flight tickets in their hands, they are up to travel to start a new life.

Searching for a lost image of home and identity.

A former Yugoslavian and Japanese singing star, painter, refugee turned stateless, beloved poet of unrequited love. It is not well-known that she loves wild guitar, along with experimental and ambient music, Jackson Pollock, and that she still dreams in Japanese. Since the accident on a concert in Japan in 2011, she has been suffering from progressive withering away of muscles. The movie is a collection of fragments from her life, told in a sickbed during her three years of battling the incurable illness.
