A village called Rosia Montana (Verespatak in Hungarian) is going to be eradicated because it is situated near mountains containing 300 tons of gold and silver. Hundred-year old houses, graveyards and churches will be destroyed, people living there for all of their lives will be moved away in order to allow a Canadian-Romanian company to install the largest gold extraction facility of Europe. The planned 800-hectare cyanide pool can be considered as of fearsome proportion, especially in the light of the cyanide catastrophe of the year 2000, which left the Tisza river completely and utterly devastated.

Tells the story of mushroom pickers who, in the summer and autumn months head, to the southern Carpathians of Romania to begin their search. Far from being a leisure activity, for many of the pickers this is a main source of income which they and their families rely on to get by. In makeshift campsites, they spend months between dense coniferous forests and the Transalpina road, where they sell the gathered mushrooms to passing tourists or people on weekend breaks. The majority of their harvest is taken by intermediaries, who sell the mushrooms abroad for many times the price.

Nicolae is a 9-year-old boy. He is a pupil at the Russian language school in Soroca. He really likes to go to school. He looks forward to going to the "last day of school" to find out if he is going to be accepted into the third grade. He knows all the streets of Soroca, because, together with his brother, Gena, they wander all day. Soroca - is a small town in the north of the Republic of Moldova. It is known thanks to the medieval fortress, the oldest on the territory of the country, but also thanks to the Roma community, that lives compactly in a neighborhood on a hill from Soroca. The Roma are eccentric here. They built big houses, some of them being replicas of known buildings in the world. Hence the name of the movie The Bolshoi Theatre, referring to the well-known building in Moscow, but also to the theatrical nature of the Roma people.

Stephen and Alegrius might inhabit a limited space but this doesn't stop them from wondering about time, the after-life and the universe from a fresh, although literally not so fresh but definitely unexpected perspective.

After he's released the value of Brancusi's work has changed in Romania and now the former security forces him to forge some of Brancusi's works. The third story has at its center a great scholar who lived in Tibet in the XII century. He is the link between sculptor and forger, a link between their destinies

A father and his children are preparing for the New Year. The eldest daughter is almost 30 years old and is used to playing the role of mother to the others, sacrificing her education to raise them, after the death of her real daughter. The second daughter is in high school and has difficulties in physics, for this reason she is punished to stay at home and solve problems in this subject. Of the two boys, one is the pride of the father, being the first and only student in the family. In a cordial atmosphere, punctuated from time to time by surprising musical fragments, the story develops around daily events. But the very next day, the appearance of a young woman who is important to the eldest son inspires the father to reconsider the sometimes too authoritarian relationship he has cultivated with his children.
