Ótrúleg saga af tveimur bræðrum, Moses og Ramses, einn fæðist með blátt blóð í æðum, og einn er munaðarleysingi með leynilega fortíð. Þeir alast upp sem bestu vinir, og eru bundnir nánum böndum. En sannleikurinn mun á endanum skilja þá að, þar sem einn verður leiðtogi valdamesta ríkis á jörðinni, en hinn verður leiðtoginn sem alþýðan kýs sér. Sagan hefst í Egyptalandi til forna. Hann fær það hlutverk að verða sendiboði sem á að frelsa Hebrea og leiða þá til fyrirheitna landsins.

Rómverjar gera þeim erfitt fyrir, enda vill Sesar ekki tapa fyrir kærustunni. En allt fer vel að lokum. Beinlínis andar léttar og framtíð hans verður þakin gulli. Þeir einu sem ekki sigra eru krókódílarnir sem hlökkuðu svo mikið til að gæða sér á byggingameista­ranum.
