Í Leikfangasögu 2 hafa Viddi og Bósi sæst frá því í fyrstu myndinni og er Viddi að búa sig undir að fara í sumarbúðir yfir helgi með Adda, stráknum sem á öll leikföngin. Adda tekst því miður að rífa handlegginn óvart af Vidda, sem leiðir til þess að hann er skilinn eftir uppi á hillu þegar Addi leggur af stað. Á meðan Addi er í burtu ákveður mamma hans að halda bílskúrssölu og ætlar að selja Wheezy, gamla gúmmímörgæs. Þegar Viddi laumast út í garð til að bjarga Wheezy er hann óvart skilinn eftir þar og er stolið af leikfangasafnaranum Al McWhiggin þegar móðirin neitar að selja hann. Bósi og félagar verða því að leggja upp í langa og stórhættulega ferð til að bjarga Vidda áður en hann verður safngripur hjá Al til frambúðar. Vandamálið er hins vegar að Vidda líkar vistin hjá Al ekkert svo illa, þar sem komið er fram við hann sem dýrmætan söfnunargrip.

Megamind er yfirgengilega gáfuð geimvera sem var send í burtu frá heimaplánetu sinni þegar mikil hætta steðjaði að þar. Hann var þó ekki sá eini sem var sendur burt og endaði á jörðinni, því Metro Man lenti á sömu braut og hann. Metro Man verður fljótt mikil stjarna og elskuð ofurhetja á Jörðinni á meðan Megamind lendir utangarðs... Hinn bitri Megamind verður því illmenni en hver einasta tilraun hans til stórkostlegra illvirkja misheppnast þar sem Metro Man kemur ávallt til bjargar. Það breytist einn daginn þegar Megamind sigrar Metro Man óvænt í eitt skipti fyrir öll. Það sem þá gerist er að í stað sigurvímu finnst Megamind allur tilgangur í lífinu horfinn, og býr því til nýja ofurhetju úr einmana myndatökumanninum Hal. Hins vegar ákveður Hal upp á eigin spýtur að í stað þess að verða ofurhetja ætli hann að nota krafta sína gegn mannkyninu, og þá eru góð ráð dýr fyrir ofurillmennið Megamind.

Monster Squad is a television series that aired Saturday mornings on NBC from 1976-1977 that is unrelated to the later movie of the same name. The series stars Fred Grandy as Walt, a criminology student working as a night watchman at "Fred's Wax Museum". To pass the time, Walt built a prototype "Crime Computer" hidden in a large stone sarcophagus near an exhibit of legendary monsters. When Walt plugged in his computer, "oscillating vibrations" brought to life the wax statues of Dracula, the Wolfman who here was named "Bruce W. Wolf", and Frankenstein's Monster who was referred to as "Frank N. Stein" in the credits. The monsters, wanting to make up for the misdeeds of their pasts, became superhero crimefighters who used their unique abilities to challenge and defeat various supervillains. In most episodes, Walt would send the monsters out to investigate crimes and fight the villains while monitoring the activities from the wax museum via the Crime Computer, presumably because his job required him to be at the wax museum at all times. However, Walt would sometimes join the climactic battle with his comrades in some episodes and come to the rescue when needed.
