Nú skemmta þau Ástríður, Hornasi og öll hin sér daglangt í drekakappflugi, nýjasta æðinu á litlu eyjunni Birkey þar sem víkingarnir eiga heima, á meðan Hiksti og Tannlaus hafa mest gaman af því að fljúga um ókunnar lendur og skoða ný svæði. Í einum slíkum leiðangrinum finna þeir félagar íshelli þar sem hundruð villtra dreka eiga heima. En ævintýrið verður alvarlegt þegar nýr óvinur skýtur upp kollinum sem ógnar tilveru bæði dreka og manna. Til að vinna bug á hættunni þurfa þeir Hiksti og Tannlaus að standa saman sem aldrei fyrr enda er hinn nýi óvinur þeirra stórhættulegur.

Mjallhvít er ofsótt af afbrýðisamri stjúpmóður sinni, drottningunni, og leitar skjóls úti í skógi hjá sjö dvergum. Drottningin gefur Mjallhvíti eitrað epli, en prinsinn finnur hana og vekur hana af dvala með kossi.
