A modern version of the plot from ancient Greek myths about the journey of the Argonauts from Hellas to Colchis for the Golden Fleece.

In Arabic, “mameluke” means a white slave, a prisoner. In Egypt, this name was given to prisoners of war who had been sold into slavery from Georgia and other countries of the Caucasus. The action of this drama starts in Georgia in the late 18th century. Two friends are abducted and sold into slavery. One ends up in Egypt, the other - in Venice. Years later, they meet by the ancient pyramids, in the desert where a battle is going on between the armies of Bonaparte and Ali-bey, the ruler of Egypt. In a combat with a French officer, the Mameluke injures him. Falling from his horse onto the sand, the officer exclaims in Georgian: “Vai, nana!” (“Oh, mother!”). And the Mameluke recognizes in him a mate of his childhood games.

Dying, the grandfather bequeathed to his grandson Luke to faithfully and truly serve the hero Vamekh, who, according to popular belief, should come and free the country from the oppression of the bloodthirsty vizier. Princess Twalta is also waiting for Vamekh's arrival - she must convey to him a family secret - a treasure, thanks to which Vamekh will become invulnerable. However, the vizier's mercenaries kidnap her from the monastery where Twalta was hiding. Luka, his friends, Bakur and Zaal, save the princess, but they themselves find themselves in an enemy trap. In the old abandoned fortress they will have to fight their last battle.

BANDITS (2003) retraces the roots of the escapade of a group of Georgians in their twenties who hijacked an Aeroflot passenger plane on November 18, 1983 from Tbilisi.

He actually offers a painting to the doctor which his wife allegedly just finished: it's called "Two Owls". The painting reappears in the midst of World War II. A woman finds it in the apartment of her husband's lover. The general of the Red Army was just found dead there. He died in the arms of his concubine. Torn between ambiguous feelings of grief and anger the widow has to make a decision. She also needs to retain her composure as the military police is already waiting outside. The last story happens in present time.

Georgian filmmaker and political activist Goga Khaindrava finished work on the documentary TV series, which is titled Herocratia and deals with prisoner torture and other government crimes against the population during the nine years Mikheil Saakashvili's National Movement was running the country. Also former political prisoners attended the premiere of the new series, which will be aired on Imedi and GDS starting from September 6. "The main idea of this film is for people to really acknowledge what kind of disaster we went through," Khaindrava told journalists. "People don't know what kind of hell some people went through."
