Un tempo uomini e maghi convivevano pacificamente, ma quel tempo è finito: ed è subito guerra. Inizia in medias res King Arthur: Il potere della spada, durante la battaglia cruciale per Camelot, con l'assalto finale di Mordred al castello di Uther Pendragon. Sarà invece un tradimento a segnare le sorti del regno e a far sì che il giovane figlio del Re, salvato dal fiume come Mosé, cresca tra i vicoli e i bordelli di Londinum. L'usurpatore teme il prescelto capace di estrarre la spada dalla roccia e obbliga tutti gli uomini in età a fare il tentativo circondati da guardie pronti a catturarlo e farlo immediatamente giustiziare.

Avventure e guai tragicomici di re Artù e dei suoi cavalieri che vanno alla ricerca del santo Graal e fanno gli incontri più strani. Benché diseguale e sgangherato, per colpa della regia a due teste e dei mezzi insufficienti, i fan vi troveranno: ricchezza di gag, ritmo, gusto per il grottesco e l'anarchia.

Il piccolo Artù è sottratto ancora in fasce alla madre dal Mago Merlino per essere preparato alla grande impresa di estrarre Excalibur dalla roccia. Artù ci riesce e viene proclamato re.

In un tempo lontano, tanti secoli addietro, il cavaliere Bowen e il drago chiamato Draco, ultimo della sua specie, si uniscono in una eroica battaglia per liberare un paese dal dominio di un governante feroce, il giovane Einon, al quale entrambi erano fortemente legati.

Diventato capo a dispetto della sua volontà, Artù desidera solo abbandonare la Britannia e tornare alla pace e alla stabilità di Roma. Prima di poter realizzare questo sogno, un'ultima missione porterà lui e i suoi fedeli Cavalieri della Tavola Rotonda.

Portata la pace a Camelot, re Artù intende sposare la principessa Ginevra, che accetta l'offerta. Il cavaliere rinnegato Malagant, desideroso di appropriarsi delle terre di Ginevra, cerca di catturarla, ma interviene Lancillotto, vagabondo abilissimo con la spada. Vincolata dai doveri e dalla stima per Artù, Ginevra diventa regina e fa nominare Lancillotto cavaliere, ma la scelta tra il maturo sovrano e il giovane eroe è difficile.

Il piccolo Artu', che fa lo sguattero nel castello di un Sir inglese, incontra il buon mago Merlino, che conosce quasi tutto il futuro e sa che Artu' sarà re. Senza dir niente al ragazzo, il mago lo prepara alla sua futura responsabilità, insegnandogli ad usare il cervello con saggezza, e per questo lo trasforma in diversi animali. Gli insegna anche che il bene deve avere il sopravvento sul male, vincendo con l'astuzia e il suo sapere una cattiva maga. Quando il ragazzo è pronto per regnare, gli si presenta l'occasione per estrarre la spada dalla roccia e viene proclamato re.

Un misterioso cavaliere, con pelle, capelli e abiti verdi, si presenta alla corte di Re Artù e propone una sfida: permetterà a chiunque di infliggergli un colpo d’ascia senza che lui si difenda, a patto che egli stesso possa restituire il medesimo colpo un anno e un giorno dopo. Sir Gawain accetta, e decapita il Cavaliere Verde con un singolo fendente. Quest’ultimo però si rialza, raccoglie la sua testa e, dopo essere balzato a cavallo, ricorda a Gawain che gli deve soddisfazione alla data concordata. Nell’anno successivo, Gawain è costretto a trovare un modo per tener fede ai patti senza perdere la testa.

Gawain era uno scudiero alla corte di Re Artù quando il Cavaliere Verde irruppe e si offrì di giocare con un coraggioso cavaliere. Gawain viaggia attraverso il paese, imparando a conoscere la vita, salvando damigelle e risolvendo l'enigma del Cavaliere Verde.

Re Artù conduce la giovane moglie Ginevra nel castello di Camelot dove riunisce i più famosi cavalieri. Vi giunge Lancelot, che si innamora, ricambiato, della regina. Dopo la delazione del perfido Mordred, Ginevra è condannata al rogo. Lancelot la salva, ma lei sceglie il convento.

Il giovane Calvin Fuller viene inviato da Mago Merlino nel reame di Re Artù con una precisa missione: salvare Camelot. Per compierla, Calvin dovrà sconfiggere il malvagio lord Belascoe, esercitarsi per diventare un valoroso cavaliere e soccorrere la principessa Catherine, che è innamorata di lui…

Consumato dalla guerra, re Arthur ritorna a casa dopo decenni trascorsi all'estero a combattere contro l'Impero Romano.
