La barchetta scorre per i rivoli lungo i marciapiedi, ma finisce in uno scolo che conduce alla rete fognaria. Georgie, contrariato, si china a guardare nella feritoia e incontra lo sguardo del bizzarro clown che abita nelle fogne, Pennywise. Per quanto strano sia trovare un clown in quel luogo, Georgie si intrattiene con lui sin quando il clown non lo addenta e lo cattura portandolo giù con sé. Giugno 1989. A Derry vige il coprifuoco a causa delle numerose sparizioni di persone, soprattutto bambini.

Un commando di soldati americani specialisti in guerriglia viene inviato nella giungla del centro america per distruggere un gruppo di guerriglieri. La missione viene rapidamente eseguita, ma sulla via del ritorno il commando diviene il bersaglio di un terrificante essere invisibile, il quale attacca gli uomini, li uccide e li squarta. In breve tempo Dutch, il comandante del gruppo rimane solo a fronteggiare quello che si rivela essere un cacciatore alieno dotato di armi e tecnologia superiori. Il coraggio, l'addestramento e un po' di fortuna consentiranno all'uomo di individuare i punti deboli del mostro.

Lì troveranno i resti di una civiltà aliena assieme a ciò che l'ha quasi estinta.
