Il giovane Napoleone Bonaparte si mette in luce già nel collegio di preti dove studia per una spiccata attitudine alla strategia militare durante un battaglia a palle di neve, ma la sua vita sociale non è altrettanto brillante, il suo carattere fiero e l'attitudine al comando lo rendono inviso agli altri ragazzi. Molti anni dopo le cose non cambiano, è vicecomandante dell'artiglieria ma le sue idee acute e ardimentose non sono gradite dai suoi superiori e il suo carattere non gli procura la simpatia dei pari grado anche se il suo indubbio carisma lo leva d'impaccio in più d'una situazione. Scampato alla ghigliottina durante il regno del terrore e messosi in luce durante la presa di Tolone per le ardite strategie, Napoleone riesce finalmente ad ottenere la possibilità di emergere quando, caduto il regime di Robespierre, gli viene affidata la campagna d'Italia del 1796.

Danton torna a Parigi dopo un breve periodo passato nella natale Arcis-sur-Aube. Deciso a lottare contro la violenza del Terrore, non riuscirà però a convincere Robespierre che la pace, il benessere e la tranquillità sono tutto quello che il popolo desidera. Per essersi opposto alle istituzioni rivoluzionarie ed al Comitato di salute pubblica, finirà condannato alla ghigliottina dopo un processo politico.

5th Republic is a controversial political drama about the Fifth Republic of South Korea, one of the most turbulent times in modern Korean history. The 41-episode television series covered the key aspects of the period from President Park Chung-hee's assassination to general Chun Doo-hwan's military coup and his bloody rise to power, as well as the ensuing conflicts between the pro-democratic movement and Chun's military regime and the behind-the-scenes power struggles that ultimately led to Roh Tae-woo's presidential succession in 1987. Given the sensitive nature of the subject matter, 5th Republic tread a fine line between fact and fiction, and faced many challenges even before the start of the production - one of which was pressures from actual political figures who threatened to sue the network for defamation if the script was not modified. Moreover, there was concern over the possible glorification of the drama's lead character Chun Doo-hwan played by Lee Deok-hwa whose strong charisma helped draw in big audience during the drama's initial broadcast on MBC in 2005.

China: The Making of a Nation is the story of the painful transformation of the vast Qing Empire into the Chinese nation after the 1911 revolution. Spanning more than a century up to the Xi Jinping era, the story pits the two pivotal leaders of this transformation against each other: Chiang Kai-shek, leader of the Republic of China for 47 years, and Mao Zedong, who rose from ‘red bandit’ to master of the mainland in 1949. Sworn enemies, they fought a merciless battle: first military, then diplomatic, and finally, beyond their deaths, in the conflicting memories of the Taiwanese and the Chinese of the People's Republic. Beyond their fierce hatred, the two tyrants also had much in common: a certain vision of Chinese territory and the greatness of China, the desire to regain the country's sovereignty and the quest for a Chinese identity in a nation that also includes Tibetans, Uighurs, Mongols... and a certain ability to rewrite history.
