Suo padre lo implora di tornare a casa ma il ragazzino tenacemente rifiuta. Quando i russi giungono nel centro di Berlino nessuno può più negare la sconfitta, neppure il giovanissimo Peter che troverà i suoi genitori assassinati da uno squadrone della morte.
