Charlie e Phil, pubblicitari di successo, vengono licenziati in seguito ad un fallimento. Trovatisi senza impiego i due passano più tempo con i rispettivi figli e, alla ricerca di un nuovo lavoro, decidono a cuor leggero di mettere su un asilo. L'impresa, apparentemente semplice agli occhi dei due, sarà tutt'altro che una passeggiata.
